Bull Brook Keep became a member of the United Plant Savers’ Botanical Sanctuary Network in 2021. This means our 72-acre farm is committed to preserving and encouraging native medicinal herbs, shrubs and trees. We’ve made this promise because:

  • Many North American medicinal plants are “at risk” because of over-harvesting or loss of natural habitat due to land development and/or pollution. One of our objectives is to re-introduce some of these herbs on Bull Brook Keep.
  • Our farm enjoys a large diversity of herbs an woody plants due, in some part, to the sustainable grazing practices we’ve used to raise our cattle.
  • We’re eager to learn more about cultivating diverse permanent agriculture – permaculture – across the farm. We invite you to follow us as we make this journey.
  • We established our farm inn 2009 as a platform for conversation and education. Since then, we’ve welcomed hundreds of visitors for pasture walks where they can see and ask about regenerative grazing methods. Now, we’re extending these visits to include guided herb tours. We want you – your friends and families – to visit and “meet” many helpful plants that not only grow on our farm, but right in your own backyard.
United Plant Savers

United Plant Savers is a nonprofit organization that for 25+ years has focused on research, education, and conservation of native medicinal plants and their habitats.

A botanical sanctuary encompasses much more than ownership of land. It is a way of respecting, protecting, and providing stewardship to the land we live on. It’s about having a relationship with the natural resources and all the native habitats – flora, fauna, and fungi. It is also very much about sharing the botanical sanctuary experience with others, and to help them on their herbal journey.
