Kutajaghana is said to be Tridoshghna (Pacifies all the three Doshas) i.e. it is useful in management of diseases with their origin in either of the Dosha or all of them. As per the ayurvedic texts Kutajah plant is said to have sprung from the drops of “Amrita” or “Elixir of Life”, which fell on the ground from the bodies of Rama’s monkeys, who were restored to life by Indra. Thus they are said to be as Indra’s seeds. The plant has the properties of Ama - pacaka – the one that digests the Ama and is adjunct to decoction enema in properties. This is also known as a very good emetic agent. It even possesses anti haemorrhoidal qualities. Ayurvedic sages have also known it as a sperm purifier. Whereas some sages have praised it for being an excellent anti diarrheal. Divya Kutajaghana Vati ingredients:

• Kutajah ke mul or root or one can also use the green bark. Wash it off with fresh water and cook it in around 16 times of water.
• When only 8 times of water is left behind let it cool down then using a cloth sieve this solution through it.
• Now go on to cook this mixture again and cook it again until it forms a thick solution or Kwatha.
• Now let it dry out in sunlight.
• Then add churna of atis to it in small amount and form vati’s of 3-3 rati each.

Dosage: Consume 2 – 4 tablets 3-4 times a day with cold water.
